In tight collaboration with our clients, this upgrade of a 1980's, split level home in Westlake Hills area came together to create a contemporary rustic cabin feel. With a winding floor plan and a stunning new grotto beneath, the overarching concept was to design a cozy cabin aesthetic while maintaining an open, airy feel with an abundance of daylight and windows.

The interior showcases minimal ornamentation, clean lines, and natural wood finishes to contrast the green exterior yard and surround trees. The minimalist décor enhances the open, airy feel, while features like marble countertops and state-of-the-art appliances add a touch of luxury while keeping the space functional and cohesive.

The new grotto below the addition is a hidden oasis, designed with concrete walls, wooden accents, and custom lighting to create a magical yet practical escape in a big and bustling city.
